What is the interpretation of Allah's saying: (Have you then seen him who disbelieved in Our signs and said, "I will surely be given wealth and children")?

The noble verse, {Have you then seen him who disbelieved in Our signs and said, "I will surely be given wealth and children"?} was revealed concerning Al-'As ibn Wa'il as-Sahmi. Khabbab, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that he used to demand a debt from him. Al-'As refused to pay until Khabbab disbelieved in Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. Khabbab replied that he would not disbelieve until Al-'As died and was resurrected. So Al-'As said: "Leave me until I die and am resurrected, and I will surely be given wealth and children, then I will repay you." And Allah's saying, {Has he looked into the unseen?} is a denial of his claim to know what he will have in the Hereafter.
