Does watching movies and TV series privately harm the viewer, especially if they are seen by others as a committed person?

Watching movies and TV series that contain forbidden elements such as immodest display (tabarruj) and music is harmful because it is a sin, and sins harm the servant and cause tribulation. While it is required not to publicize one's sins, what is more important is to repent from them immediately, so one should not be deceived by the concealment of sin. The questioner must fear Allah and strive against their self to abandon watching such movies.
