Is it permissible to ask the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for supplication if one sees him in a dream?

Religious rulings are addressed to those who are awake, as a sleeping person is not subject to religious obligations because sleep is one of the impediments to legal capacity. Jurists hold that sleep is an impediment to legal responsibility (taklif); thus, the address (of the law) is not directed to a sleeping person while they are asleep, but rather after they awaken. This is based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "The pen has been lifted from three," and he mentioned among them: "a sleeping person until he awakens." Any statements made by a sleeping person are considered null and void and are not taken into account. However, they are held accountable for actions that necessitate compensation (dhaman) because compensation does not require legal responsibility (taklif) as a condition. Accordingly, what a sleeping person sees in their dream cannot be described as permissible or not permissible.
