What is the way to overcome feelings of fear and pain from not being accepted and loved by God, which afflict a believing woman despite her eagerness to perform acts of obedience and avoid major sins, especially when setbacks occur or when seeing dreams that might be interpreted as evidence of non-acceptance?
Fear of sins and their evil consequences is a characteristic of truthful believers. A believer sees his sins as a mountain, fearing it might fall on him, unlike the wicked person who sees them as a fly that landed on his nose. A believer combines goodness with compassion, whereas a hypocrite combines wrongdoing with heedlessness. Therefore, a believer must be cautious of sins and hasten to repent immediately upon committing them, without despairing of Allah's mercy. For it is not in the nature of a believer to be infallible from sins. If humans did not sin, Allah would have removed them and brought a people who would sin and seek forgiveness, so He would forgive them. So, if you are eager to perform good deeds, avoid major sins, and love good for people, we hope that you are among those whom Allah loves and who love Him.
