Is covering one's nakedness (awrah) a condition for the adhan?

It is not a condition for the validity of the muezzin's adhan that he be covering his 'awrah (private parts); the adhan of a person in a state of janabah (major ritual impurity) or with uncovered 'awrah is permissible, even if he is in the mosque, because the purpose of the adhan, which is to announce the prayer, is achieved. The prohibition relates to the sanctity of the mosque and the uncovering of the 'awrah, not to the adhan itself.
