What is incumbent upon a woman who caused the death of her fetus unintentionally, and is the blood money (diyya) obligatory upon her, and which are the authorities specialized in this matter?

Nothing is required of you unless you become certain, or it is highly probable in your estimation or that of the doctors, that the death of the fetus was caused by your quick movement. For compensation is not necessitated by doubt, and the original state is the acquittal of one’s responsibility. If something necessitating compensation is proven, then the one who caused the death of the fetus is the guarantor, and its legal heirs inherit the obligatory ghurrah, not the one who caused its death.
