Is it permissible to combine the intention of doing good for Allah with the intention of humanity at the same time?

If a person benefits others out of chivalry or noble character, and adds to that the intention of compliance [with Allah's commands], then it is goodness upon goodness, and this is not considered polytheism (shirk). The doer of good is rewarded for benefiting others, even if the intention of compliance was not present.
