What is the ruling on disposing of properties acquired with credit cards that were intentionally misused, and is it permissible to donate them to the mosque if their owner intends to repay the debts when funds become available?
Whoever repents with sincere repentance, Allah will accept his repentance, for Allah Almighty says: "Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.'" The conditions for sincere repentance are: abandoning the sin, regretting having committed it, resolving not to return to it, and fulfilling the rights of others by returning them or seeking their forgiveness. If the money was taken by deception, it must be returned to its owner. Otherwise, it must be disposed of by spending it on a public benefit for Muslims, with the intention of ridding oneself of it, not as an act of drawing closer to Allah.
