The child of adultery does not inherit from his mother's husband because there is no cause for inheritance, which is lineage. This is unless his mother was a lawful bed (in a marital relationship) to a husband, and she committed adultery while under his legal guardianship, and the husband did not disown the child through li'an (oath of condemnation). In such a case, the child is attributed to him and inherits from him, based on the hadith (definition): "The child is for the lawful bed, and for the fornicator is the stone." However, if the mother was not married at the time of the adultery, then her husband has no relation to the child, and there is no inheritance between them. The semen of adultery does not establish lineage.
