Did Adam (peace be upon him) descend in India and Eve in Jeddah?

Adam and Eve were cast down from Paradise to Earth after eating from the tree, as stated in the Holy Qur'an. The Qur'an and authentic Sunnah did not specify the place of their descent on Earth, although weak hadiths and various, contradictory early Islamic statements have been reported in this regard, such as India, Jeddah, an area between Mecca and Taif, or Safa and Marwah. These statements were often derived from the knowledge of the People of the Book and are not reliable.
