Does reciting the Qur’an against one’s will and without khushu’ (devotion/humility) negate the reward?

Reciting the Quran is among the best acts of obedience through which a Muslim earns immense reward. For every letter, there are ten good deeds, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah will have a good deed, and a good deed is multiplied ten-fold. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter, but rather Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter, and Mim is a letter." Among the etiquettes of reciting the Quran is humility (khushu'), but it is not a condition for receiving the reward. Reciting the Quran with a lack of humility is still rewarded. However, it is better to recite it with complete humility and contemplation.
