What is the ruling on reciting the end of Surat Al-Baqarah after Surat An-Nas in the Witr prayer?

What the reciter did by reciting the end of Surat al-Baqarah after Surat an-Nas in Witr prayer is contrary to what is best, though his prayer is valid. It would have been more appropriate for him to recite the beginning of Surat al-Baqarah. The Sunnah is to recite the surahs in sequential order according to the arrangement in the Mushaf. Regarding the recommended recitation in Witr after Al-Fatiha, the Hanafis hold that nothing specific is prescribed, and whatever is recited is good, with the recitation of "Sabbih," "Al-Kafirun," and "Al-Ikhlas" being occasional. As for the Hanbalis, Malikis, and Shafi'is, they recommend reciting the three mentioned surahs, with the addition of the two Mu'awwidhatayn in the third rak'ah according to the Malikis and Shafi'is, except for one who has a regular portion (hizb) from the Qur'an, in which case he may recite from it.
