Do the mother and son owe expiation for having fought with the daughter who committed suicide? And will the one who committed suicide remain eternally in Hellfire, even though she used to pray and fast? And what deed will intercede for her?

Suicide is one of the gravest major sins, and a severe warning has been issued against those who kill themselves, unless Allah forgives them. The family of this girl should supplicate abundantly for her forgiveness and mercy, give charity on her behalf, and dedicate the reward to her. As for the mother and son, there is no expiation (kaffara) upon them, because the girl committed the act herself, and a mere quarrel does not make them killers. They should strive to perform abundant good deeds and supererogatory acts, maintain their obligatory duties, and steer clear of prohibitions.
