To proceed: What is the meaning of accepting indoctrination, and why is it that whoever accepts it becomes weakened?

"Talqin" (prompting) among the People of Hadith means that the student says to the shaykh, "Say, 'So-and-so narrated to us such-and-such'," whereupon the shaykh narrates it without being aware of its content or the student's trustworthiness, which indicates the shaykh's leniency. Al-San'ani defined it as the imparting of words (an isnad or a matn) to another person in a hadith, so that he may narrate it, even once, without knowing that it is from his own narrations. This is not accepted because it indicates the narrator's lack of meticulousness and his recklessness, which undermines trust in him.
