What is the ruling on taking knowledge from a shaykh who calls for reading the book "Ihya' 'Ulum al-Din" and uses the verse: "And Allah created you and what you do" as proof that Allah is the Creator of the actions of His servants, and warns against taking knowledge except from "Ahl al-Sanad" (people of authentic chains of transmission), and calls for reading Al-Ghazali's book "Qawa'id al-'Aqa'id," claiming that it conforms to Al-Aqidah Al-Tahawiyyah, and mentions "ta'wil and tafwid," and praises the Ash'aris and Maturidis, and condemns the Hashawiyyah, Qadariyyah, Murji'ah, and Mu'tazilah, and denounces their claim of prioritizing intellect over transmitted texts, knowing that the book "Ihya' 'Ulum al-Din" narrates from Abu Yazid al-Bistami what suggests that it is better than seeing Allah seventy times? And what are the fabricated hadiths and corrupt beliefs in these books?

The actions of humans are created, and this is the truth. If the esteemed Sheikh's intention was to receive knowledge from its people, not from books, then that is correct; otherwise, it is invalid.

Tafwid (delegation of knowledge) among the Salaf (pious predecessors) meant delegating the knowledge of how (the modality), whereas among the Khalaf (later generations), it meant delegating the meaning of the texts.

The methodology of the Salaf was to avoid ta'wil (figurative interpretation) unless there was a [textual] proof.
