I got engaged to a girl four years ago, and now I fear that marrying her may negatively affect the stability of my family. Would breaking off the engagement be considered unjust to her? And am I religiously obligated to proceed with the marriage, despite the approval of both my wife and the fiancée?

Dissolving the engagement is permissible if there is a reason for it, and it is disliked without a reason. The one who dissolves the engagement is not considered unjust towards the fiancée. If the fear of injustice towards the wife after marriage is merely a baseless apprehension, then it should be disregarded. One must strive for apparent justice, while emotional inclination is permissible. Performing is recommended. However, if the fear of injustice is real, then one should not proceed with marrying her, as justice is a condition for polygyny.
