The permissibility of benefiting from donations depends on the identification of the donors. If the donors have authorized the person to benefit from them for himself, there is no harm in it, even if it falls within the concept of the "lower hand" mentioned in the Hadith: "The upper hand is better than the lower hand." However, if the donors have specified certain disbursements for their donations that do not include the site owner taking for himself, then it is not permissible to contravene what they have specified.
