Is the prayer on the pulpit mentioned in Fatwa no. 13340 a real prayer or an instructional one? Can it be applied to current pulpits, and how is it performed? Does the worshiper prostrate on his hands or his knees first, as Ibn Baz and Ibn Uthaymeen stated? Is rising by supporting oneself on the ground with clenched fists a Sunnah, given the disagreement on the meaning of "al-ajnu" and the weakness of the hadith mentioned in it?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed on the Minbar to teach people his prayer, as narrated in the hadith of Sahl ibn Sa'd, where he stood upon it, pronounced the Takbir, bowed, then descended to prostrate at the base of the Minbar. This prayer was an obligatory one. As for the issue of descending to prostrate on the knees, scholars have differed between prioritizing the knees or the hands, and the matter is broad due to the varying evidences. The hadith of "Al-Ajn" (kneeling like a camel) is disputed among hadith scholars, and the most probable opinion is that it is not authentically established.
