Does lying to one's mother count towards her not forgiving and her threat of never forgiving at all?

The default is that lying is forbidden. It is not permissible for you to lie to your mother unless the lie is in a situation where it is permitted, in which case it is better to use allusions (al-ma'arid). Parents should not be overly strict with their children by not forgiving. It is permissible for a woman to speak with her suitor, provided she adheres to Islamic guidelines, such as not being in seclusion (khalwa) or speaking in a submissive manner.
