The wife must return to her husband's home if he provides her with a suitable, independent dwelling that does not harm her. If she refuses without a valid excuse, she is considered disobedient (nashiz). We advise the wife to fear Allah and return to her home, live with her husband honorably, and treat his family kindly. We advise the husband to live with her honorably, not force her to mix with his family, and be wise in combining dutifulness to his parents with good companionship to his wife.
