What is the ruling on one who leaves his wife after marital intimacy and sleeps elsewhere, claiming it is recommended?
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to sleep with his wives, as narrated in the of Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her. It is permissible to sleep with a menstruating woman and to lie with her under one blanket.
Although some scholars are of the opinion that spouses should maintain a distance from each other during sleep to avoid anything that might cause aversion, the action of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in this matter is the definitive proof, and one should not deviate from it.
Sleeping together as a couple can be considered a natural human act. So, whoever feels comfortable with it may do it, and whoever does not feel comfortable with it may refrain from it, and there is no blame.
