What should a husband do with his wife who persistently demands divorce after an argument, despite his attempts at reconciliation and his suggestion that envy or magic might be the cause of the problem, and his desire to preserve his family?

It is not preferable to hasten in considering sorcery as the cause of marital problems. However, if there is a sudden change in the behavior of one of the spouses, then it is suspected that sorcery or something else is the cause, and the solution is through Ruqyah (Islamic exorcism). Marital problems are common, but cursing or striking between spouses is unacceptable because it contradicts good companionship. Apologizing and seeking reconciliation are commendable, and reconciliation is better, and the wife should not reject it. If reconciliation is not possible after effort has been exerted, then divorce might be better if the companionship has deteriorated, because the continuation of the marriage at that point becomes a pure mischief and harm. And divorce might be a blessing that frees from bonds, and after separation, Allah will enrich each of the spouses from His bounty.
