The answer

The tranquility of the heart and the serenity of the soul are only achieved through the pleasure of Allah the Almighty, which is attained by staying away from sins and drawing closer to Allah. Sins harm hearts just as poisons harm bodies. Among their effects are deprivation of knowledge, obedience, and sustenance, as well as desolation, darkness of the heart, the departure of angels, and the rejection of supplications.

Among the things that remove desolation and bring serenity to the soul are:

Belief in Allah and Divine Decree: For happiness is not complete without firm faith. Reliance on Allah: It makes the heart strong, unaffected by delusions, knowing Allah's sufficiency for those who rely on Him. Contentment: For whoever does not know it will not know happiness, even if they possess the treasures of the earth. Recitation of the Quran, remembrance of Allah (Dhikr), and supplication (Du'a): With certainty of their acceptance.

The indication of fearing hypocrisy is a sign of a living heart, as Al-Hasan Al-Basri said: "By Allah, no one fears it except a believer, and no one feels secure from it except a hypocrite."

Among the things that help in obeying Allah and attaining the sweetness of worship are:

Accepting Allah's commands without objection. Loving Allah and His Messenger more than anything else, loving people for Allah's sake, and detesting a return to disbelief. Sincerity and concealing good deeds, reviewing one's own shortcomings and imperfections in actions. Fearing that deeds may not be accepted. Witnessing Allah's grace and benevolence, feeling shame before Him, and remembering standing before Him. Knowing Allah through His Most Beautiful Names and Exalted Attributes, and beneficial knowledge that connects the heart to Allah. Increasing remembrance of death, Paradise, and Hellfire, frequent remembrance of Allah, contemplation and reflection, and hastening to perform acts of obedience.
