How can one help a son who has apostatized from Islam return to his religion, in order to save the mother and family from grief?

The most important advice is to supplicate for his guidance frequently, especially from his mother, because the parent's supplication is answered. He is also advised to fear Allah and repent to Him before death. It is also recommended to consult the books of the scholars of the Ummah in refuting philosophers, such as the books of Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (Naqd al-Ta'sees) and (Dar' Ta'arud al-'Aql wa al-Naql). It is warned that those who do not have a firm grounding in Islamic knowledge should be cautious of studying philosophy due to the trials it may lead to regarding religion.
