What is the jurisprudential ruling on a nurse bringing medicine from the hospital – his workplace – for his relatives and his wife's relatives, especially if they are poor or sick with limited income, bearing in mind that this medicine is not his property and he does not have the right to dispose of it?

It is not permissible for your husband to transfer medicine from the hospital pharmacy, even if it is for a poor person or a relative, unless he has been authorized to do so. He must repent to Allah by returning what he took or its value and desist from this act, because it is a breach of trust and a forbidden transgression. If he wishes to help the poor, it should be with his own effort and money, not by infringing on the rights of others. As for health insurance, if it is a donation or a cooperative, solidarity-based (takaful) one, then there is no objection to it, provided that the agreed-upon conditions are adhered to. Otherwise, it is not permissible to enter into it.
