Is it permissible for a husband to take back his wife whom he has divorced multiple times, with the intention of pleasing his sister, and not with the intention of separation, knowing that his sole intention was divorce and separation when he said to her: "My wife is divorced, divorced, divorced. A clear, valid divorce, without anger or coercion"?

If a husband says to his wife: "You are divorced, you are divorced, you are divorced" three times separately, the relied-upon fatwa is that this constitutes three divorces unless he intended emphasis. The majority of jurists hold that sequential divorces without reconciliation constitute three divorces. The word "taliq" (divorced) is an explicit term that effects divorce even if the husband did not intend it.

It is not permissible for a husband to divorce his righteous wife to please his parents or relatives, as this is not an act of righteousness. It is advisable to strive for reconciliation between the disputants.
