What is the ruling on maintenance for a sick, disobedient wife?

A rebellious wife (nashiz) is not entitled to maintenance (nafaqa), because one of the reasons maintenance becomes obligatory is her confinement for the husband's right. So, if she deviates from that, her maintenance is forfeited. However, the husband is advised to treat his wife kindly as long as her condition necessitates it.
