Is it permissible to intend ruqyah when reciting the Quran for family members, whether they are gathered or individual, present or absent? And does this ruqyah affect them from afar?

Legal ruqyah must be performed directly on the patient. There is no mention in the Sunnah that it is permissible to perform ruqyah remotely. Therefore, it is not permissible to do so via telephone or loudspeaker, as this contravenes the guidance of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his Companions. However, supplicating for an absent patient is beneficial, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) encouraged a Muslim to supplicate for his brother in his absence, saying: "The supplication of a Muslim for his brother in his absence is answered." It is also recommended to adhere to the prescribed adhkar (remembrances), the Mu'awwidhat (protective surahs), and reading the Quran for protection against the evil eye and magic.
