Is it permissible for a husband to prevent his wife from working by contacting her employer, or to abandon her and marry another in the hope of her return, after she refused to move with him to another city and requested a divorce, despite his concessions and her desire to have children and her previous financial assistance to him?

It is not permissible for a wife to leave her husband's house for work or other reasons without his permission, and he has the right to withdraw his permission. The wife must move with her husband wherever he wishes, as long as it is safe and he provides suitable accommodation. A wife's refusal to move constitutes disloyalty (nushuz), which forfeits her right to maintenance. The money the wife paid to the husband for the car is a debt that must be repaid. If the wife requests a divorce without a valid reason, the husband has the right to refuse until she relinquishes some of her rights. It is advisable to reach an understanding with the wife and explain the Islamic ruling regarding her obedience. If she does not comply, it is permissible to cease providing for her and to marry another woman. It is also permissible to speak to her guardian to prevent her from working, provided no harm is inflicted upon her.
