Are there still fabricated and weak hadiths whose authenticity has not yet been discovered?
Allah has guaranteed the preservation of His Book and the of His Prophet, peace be upon him. Allah described the Sunnah as part of the Dhikr (remembrance/revelation) that He sent down to His Prophet to clarify the Qur'an. Therefore, its preservation is part of the preservation of the Qur'an. Allah prepared means for the preservation of the Sunnah from falsehood and error, such as the existence of memorizers and scholars who dedicated their lives to this. There is no Hadith uttered by the Prophet, peace be upon him, that contains a ruling for the which the Ummah needs in its religion, except that it has been transmitted authentically and accepted, and the Ummah has received it generation after generation. There is no Hadith from the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, nor any narration from a Companion or other, except that its authenticity or weakness can be known, for Hadith scholars have established rules and criteria to distinguish between authentic, weak, and fabricated Hadiths and narrations.
