The deceased's wife receives one-eighth due to the existence of a inheriting descendant (the daughter), and the daughter receives one-half as a prescribed share. The remainder is taken by the daughter by way of return (radd). The brother from the mother's side receives nothing, as he is completely excluded by the inheriting descendant. Thus, the estate is divided into eight shares: the wife receives one share, and the remainder goes to the daughter. Issues related to inheritances must be referred to the Sharia courts.
