Is the departure of the soul the same for all Muslims, regardless of their degree of faith and closeness to God?

The intensity of death does not negate the easing for the believer at the time of the soul's departure. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, experienced intense pain at his death, as he said: "There is no god but Allah; indeed, death has agonies." It is narrated from Aisha that she said: "I would never dislike the intensity of death for anyone ever after the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him." The intensity of death for a believer may be an increase in his good deeds or an expiation for his sins. The pain of the soul's departure varies among Muslims; it has been affirmed that it is light for the martyr due to the Prophet's saying, peace and blessings be upon him: "The martyr does not feel the touch of killing except as one of you feels the touch of a pinch."
