What is the ruling on the common saying: "I am your devoted follower/supporter" (Ana mahsoubak)?

The phrase "My Sheikh is sufficient for me" (حسبي شيخي) might imply a false meaning, such as the belief of a Sufi disciple that his Sheikh is his sufficiency, provider, and protector. This is polytheism (shirk (definition)). Allah Almighty is Al-Haseeb (the Reckoner, the Sufficient), and Muslims say, "Allah is sufficient for us, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs." If the intention is other than that, it would not be disbelief (kufr) or polytheism (shirk). However, it is advisable to avoid this statement due to the false polytheistic meaning it suggests and its resemblance to the people of polytheism and innovation.
