What is the way to get rid of the feeling of failure and severe distress, and doubt and obsessive thoughts, and the fear of driving a car, and the feeling of helplessness and being a burden on the family, knowing that I pray and recite the Quran and perform night prayers, and I have repented from sins, and I sometimes fear uttering what displeases Allah, despite my need to focus on the upcoming exams?
Allah's decree is entirely good. The servant should examine his deeds and his relationship with his Lord. Indeed, the obstruction of affairs and the closing of doors to ease are consequences of sins. Similarly, any deprivation, distress, or hardship that afflicts him is due to his sins. Allah says: "And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is because of what your hands have earned."
Therefore, he should adhere to piety and seek forgiveness, for Allah makes a way out for the pious and provides for them, and seeking forgiveness brings provision and wealth, in addition to supplication and recourse to Allah. Gratitude for blessings is a reason for their increase.
