Is Qatadah the same person as Abu Qatadah? And what is a brief biography of Qatadah?

Qatadah ibn Di'amah was the Hafiz (master memorizer) of his era and an exemplar for exegetes and Hadith scholars. He is held up as an example for the strength of his memory. He held the view of Qadar (predestination), yet no one ever questioned his truthfulness, uprightness, or memorization. Slips made by individuals like him are forgiven, they are not misguided, nor are their good deeds forgotten if their correct statements were numerous, their pursuit of truth was known, their knowledge was vast, their intelligence evident, their righteousness and piety recognized, and their adherence [to the Sunnah] established. However, they are not to be emulated in their innovation or error. Qatadah passed away in the year 118 AH.
