What is the ruling on one who laughs involuntarily, without awareness or thought, whenever someone speaks about or mocks an Islamic matter? Is this disbelief (kufr)? And what is your advice regarding someone who uttered offensive words like "What are you saying, you monkey?!" to his sister, who had said that we should read and understand the Qur'an ourselves without needing to rely on a شيخ's understanding?

A Muslim must become angry and leave immediately any gathering where religion is mocked, due to the Almighty's saying: (And He has already revealed to you in the Book that when you hear the verses of Allah being denied and ridiculed, then do not sit with them until they engage in another conversation. Indeed, in that case, you would be like them.) If one forgets and sits, he must stand up immediately upon remembering and show his anger and disdain for the abominations. As for errors in interpreting the Qur'an, one must refer to the sayings of the Companions, the Tabi'un, and the scholars, and not interpret it in a way that contradicts their sayings or personal whims.
