What is the ruling on interrupting a speaker in a religious gathering and requesting questions before he finishes his speech?

The importance of listening is emphasized in gatherings of remembrance (majalis al-dhikr) where the verses of Allah are recited and the hadith of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, are mentioned. Scholars have discussed the etiquettes of the listener in these gatherings, including not interrupting the shaykh while he is speaking, or trying to anticipate him, and having patience until he finishes his speech, and not speaking with others while the shaykh is speaking. Interrupting a speaker who is conveying the words of Allah and His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, is even more reprehensible if it is without an urgent necessity, due to the sanctity of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and the reverence and glorification due to him after his death, just as it was during his life.
