The answer

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would sit for the first and last Tashahhud, placing his left hand on his left thigh, spreading its fingers towards the Qibla and close to the knee. As for his right hand, he would place it on his right thigh, clenching its fingers, extending his index finger, and pointing with it. It is not prescribed to raise the hands for supplication in this situation; rather, one should keep them in the described posture, following the guidance of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
