Musa al-Kazim, son of Ja'far al-Sadiq, was born in Medina in the year 128 AH and passed away in the year 183 AH. Abu Hatim described him as trustworthy, truthful, an Imam among the Imams of the Muslims. Al-Dhahabi said of him that he was righteous, devout, generous, forbearing, and of great stature, and that he was the exemplary Imam, the Master. He narrated Hadiths from his father, and his children and others narrated from him. However, his narrations are few because he passed away before the time for extensive narration.
