Is helping needy family members by purchasing necessities and non-necessities considered charity and a good deed for which one can supplicate for the purpose of marriage?

Providing for needy relatives is a righteous deed for which the provider is rewarded if he intends thereby the countenance of Allah the Almighty. It is both charity and an act of maintaining kinship ties. The provision for a needy mother is obligatory upon her children, and it is permissible to seek nearness to Allah the Almighty through charity or righteous deeds.
