Do sins, specifically watching forbidden things, have a negative impact on a person's social relationships, and how can this impact be overcome?

The harms of sins are immense for a servant, and among them is the estrangement that occurs between him and people, especially the righteous. The stronger this estrangement becomes, the further he distances himself from them and is deprived of the blessing of benefiting from them, and the closer he draws to the party of Satan. This estrangement may even extend to his wife, children, relatives, and himself. It was said: "If a servant commits an act of disobedience to Allah, he considers his praiser a blamer." And indeed, a servant may commit sins in private, and Allah casts hatred for him into the hearts of believers without him realizing it. A man may commit a sin in secret, and wake up in the morning bearing its humiliation. The way out of this is through the obligatory repentance from every sin.
