Is a girl's unwillingness to work outside the home and her contentment with caring for her house, husband, and children considered a shortcoming in her worldly pursuits or a lack of ambition, and does she thereby miss out on a great reward?

A woman is not obligated to go out to work as long as she is provided for, and her staying at home is better for her. She is rewarded for not going out in obedience to Allah's saying: "And stay in your houses," as interpreted by Ibn Kathir and Al-Qurtubi, to be a command for all women to stay at home. The condescending view of a woman who stays at home is a result of the Western intellectual invasion, and a Muslim woman should not pay attention to such voices. Rather, she should stay at home, for raising children at home is better for her and for her nation.
