Are females equal to males in paying for property expenses among heirs?

The costs of properties jointly owned by owners with differing shares are to be borne proportionally to each owner's share. Just as benefits are distributed according to one's portion, so too are costs and expenses distributed according to one's share. The jurisprudential rule governing this is: "Gain comes with responsibility" (Al-Ghurm bil-Ghunm). This also applies to the fee of the divider (qasim) in a partition, where each owner pays according to their share.
