Is it just and lawful for males to receive double what females receive from the income of inherited property, while they are equal to females in paying the maintenance costs of this property?

Every heir owns a share of the inherited building proportional to their legal inheritance. If the heirs are only sons and daughters, the inheritance is divided among them by ta'sib (agnatic inheritance), with the male receiving the equivalent of two females' shares, as Allah Almighty says: "Allah instructs you concerning your children: for the male, what is equal to the share of two females."

The maintenance costs of the building are divided among them in proportion to each one's share in it. Thus, the male pays double what the female pays, because he owns double what the female owns. For example, if the maintenance cost is eight thousand [currency units] for three sons and two daughters, each son pays two thousand, and each daughter pays one thousand.
