What is the ruling on one who has been wronged and is unable to restore his right through supplication or by appealing to officials, while his reputation is being damaged? Is it permissible to pass judgment on a person without granting him an opportunity to defend himself? And what is the ruling of Islamic law on these officials?

Whoever has been wronged and turns to Allah in supplication has taken the correct path, and he must avoid transgressing in his supplication. His supplication will be answered, and Allah will help him, even if after some time. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Three whose supplications are not rejected: a just ruler, a fasting person until he breaks his fast, and the supplication of the wronged; Allah raises it above the clouds, and the gates of heaven are opened for it, and the Lord, Exalted and Glorified, says: 'By My might and glory, I will surely help you, even if after some time.'" And if the servant shows patience and seeks his reward (from Allah), he will attain recompense and elevation. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No servant is wronged and then shows patience upon it, except that Allah increases him in honor."
