Should a Muslim female student shun her Christian peers who are trying to convert their classmates, or should she discuss and debate their beliefs with them?
It is not advisable to engage in dialogue or debate with Christians if the debater is not academically qualified, because argumentation is for those who are proficient in Islamic knowledge and capable of refuting misconceptions. The principle in debating with the People of the Book is to do so in the best manner, with the intention of clarifying the truth, not to overpower. A beginner student of knowledge should focus on seeking Islamic knowledge, correcting their creed and worship, and leaving debates to specialists. If there is a fear of Muslim women being influenced by calls for Christianization, then they must be warned and provided with what clarifies true Islam and warns against false religions.
