What is the ruling on imagining one's family members and masturbating when seeing their pictures or speaking with them on the phone? And what are the ways to be delivered from this and repent?

Masturbation by hand is forbidden (haram), and one must repent from it by increasing fasting and supplication (dua), and by striving to bring one's wife or return to her. There is no sin in imagining or visualizing one's wife, or speaking with her, and there is no sin in semen being discharged due to thought or conversation with one's wife without any action or use of the hand.
