Is it permissible to purchase petroleum products from a country that has colonized the lands of others and benefits from their oil, and what is the ruling on oil ownership in Islamic Sharia?

There is no harm in benefiting from petroleum derivatives and purchasing them from the state, because petroleum and other minerals are entrusted to the ruler, even if they are privately owned. This is what some scholars have held, as narrated from the Malikis.
