What is the way to solve the problem of a husband who feels unfulfilled financially and professionally due to his restrictive work with his wife's father, and the difficulty of owning property in the country where he lives?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Expenditure on the wife and children is an obligation upon the husband, in a reasonable manner, based on the Almighty's saying: "Let a man of wealth spend from his wealth," and "Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given some over others and what they spend from their wealth." It is not permissible for the husband to take his wife's money unless she gives it willingly, based on the Almighty's saying: "But if they give up willingly to you anything of it, then take it in satisfaction and ease," and the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "The property of a Muslim person is not lawful except with his willing consent." It is appropriate for a wealthy wife to assist her husband, and she will be rewarded for that, based on the Almighty's saying: "And do not forget graciousness among yourselves. Indeed, Allah is Seeing of what you do."
