Does a divorce take effect simply by uttering it three times, or is there an exception based on circumstances?

If a man says to his wife, "You are threefold divorced," or "You are divorced, and divorced, and divorced," she becomes irrevocably divorced from him. She is not lawful for him again until she marries another husband. This is the view of the majority of scholars.

As for the divorce pronounced by an angry person, it varies according to the degree of anger, falling into three categories: 1. If his anger is at its beginning and he knows what he is saying and intends it: then his divorce is valid. 2. If his anger has reached its extreme, so he does not know what he is saying: then his divorce is not effective. 3. If his anger is moderate, between the two aforementioned states, and he has not become like a madman: then his divorce is also not effective.

This is supported by the hadith: "There is no divorce and no manumission in a state of ighlaq (compulsion or extreme distress)."
